EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company)

EADS came into being on 10 July 2000, emerging from the link-up of the German Daimler Chrysler Aerospace AG, the French Aerospatiale Matra and CASA of Spain. The Company is governed by the laws of the Netherlands (N.V.), and its shares are admitted for trading in France, Germany and Spain.

Its shareholder structure as of 31 December 2010 is : DAIMLER 22,46%, SOGEADE 22,46%, SEPI 5,47%, treasury shares 0,39%, institutional, retail and employee ownership 49,16%.

At 31 December 2010, the order book of EADS reached €448.5 billion, and the Company achieved revenues of €45,8 billion, of which €12,3 billion were achieved in the military market (27%).

The company employs 121 691 people mainly in France (45 580), in Germany (43 966), in the United Kingdom (12 813), in Spain (10 498) and in the United States (2 692).

EADS is subdivided into four divisions:

·     AIRBUS (Airbus Military included): 62 751 employees, €30Bn of Revenues, a €400,4Bn order book.

·     EUROCOPTER: 16 760 employees, €4,8Bn of Revenues, a €14,5Bn order book.

·     ASTRIUM: 15 340 employees, €5Bn of Revenues, a €15,8Bn order book.

·     CASSIDIAN: 21 181 employees, €5,9Bn of Revenues, a €16,9Bn order book.

Some other Businesses are not attached to a division: ATR, EADS NA, EADS Sogerma, Daher-Socata. It generated revenues of €1,2Bn in 2010.
